Women's Professional Football
Women's professional football has been around in various forms and formats even dating back to early NFL days when women played during NFL halftimes.

The concept of women playing football beyond school and college teams is vastly appealing as can be seen by the numerous leagues that have started and closed over past seasons with few of them posting more than 1 1/2 years of existence before closing their doors and or retooling and having yet another go at it. Add to that the untold number of Independent women's football teams playing without a league.
There are many reasons why women's football leagues come and go including poor marketing strategies, bad business dealings, and not building a fan base to meet the monetary investment it takes to put on a season of football. These are just a few of the many causes of women's pro football leagues seeing time run out on the clock for them according to numerous writers and publications that can be found both in print and on the Internet.
Check out the current women's pro football leagues and see which of them you think has the structure, business savvy and overall entertainment package in marketing the sport of football played by women to complete this season and add another notch to their belt. While the Alamo City Battle had set it sights on playing in the WPFL for the 2002 season, who is to say wich women's pro football league will be around for the 2003 season when we will be better prepared for kicking off women's pro football in San Antonio.
